Post-Mastectomy

While medical treatment for breast cancer is saving more lives, sometimes these necessary treatments can cause side effects such as pain in the shoulders, neck, and back, limited range of motion, scar tissue restrictions, and chest tightness.

Since breast cancer research shows that physical exercise and activity are key factors for survivors, our certified therapists, using the principles of Applied Functional Science® (AFS), use manual therapy intervention and scar mobilization management to restore range-of-motion, strength, and function.

Our team of rehabilitation specialists help survivors regain strength, energy, and the ability to return to the activities they love.

Our approach uses AFS to provide improvements in:

  • Return to full-body motion and function
  • Scar mobilization management

Osteoporosis

Since osteoporosis causes bones to lose density and strength, our approach to treatment focuses on improving the function and integrity of the patient’s body. Since women over 50 are at the greatest risk of developing the disease, 3DPT’s therapists are certified to provide effective treatment based on the principles of Applied Functional Science® (AFS).

Our approach uses AFS to provide improvements in:

 •  Improved strength using optimal  3D loading of the joints and muscles
 • Improved balance and stability
 • Improved posture and structural alignment
 • Gains in bone density using
 vibration therapy

Our approach in treating women with osteoporosis aims to slow the effects of the disease, improving bone density, balance, posture, range of motion, flexibility, strength, and reducing pain. Our movement experts work to improve patients’ quality of life because people matter.

Pre & Postnatal Care

3DPT Difference graphic_White

During pregnancy and postpartum, a woman’s body goes through significant physical and hormonal changes. The affects on the musculoskeletal system can cause muscle imbalances, weakness, poor posture and alignment, or excessive joint mobility, leading to pelvic, lumbar, hip, and cervical pain, diastases rectus abdominis, and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Our team is trained using principles of Applied Functional Science® to provide women the support and care they need to reduce anxiety, pain, and discomfort during the pre- and post-natal periods.

Our approach uses AFS to provide improvements in:

• Mobility and stability by efficiently lengthening and        loading pelvic floor muscles
• Joint and spine support through posture & positioning
• Movement, relaxation techniques,  and breathing            exercises helpful for birthing
• Support of pelvic organs, voiding, and sexual health by     strengthening and toning the pelvic floor

Pelvic Conditions

Our certified and caring therapists, using principles of Applied Functional Science®, provide effective treatments for these Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions:

Incontinence

Our treatments provide:

  • Alignment and muscular support of pelvic organs            using AFS’s three-dimensional mobility & stability
  • A reduction in void frequency and increased control  of sudden urges
  • Reduction in muscle tightness and spasms related to the inability to completely empty the bladder

Pelvic Pain

Our treatments provide:

  • Improved resting tone and relaxation via AFS’s 3D          mobility and stability techniques
  • Reduced external and internal muscle pain, tightness, and spasms from the use of gentle massage and  functional manual therapy

Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Our treatments provide:

  • Improved pelvic organ support via AFS’s 3D stability, appropriate strength training, and pelvic positioning
