3DPT’s geriatric therapy focuses on optimizing function for the aging adult through physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services.  As we age, our bodies undergo wear and tear.  Although this process is normal, it sometimes leads to pain and disability, causing patients to limit their activity or stop doing what they enjoy.

Physical Therapy                                                     Through geriatric-specific physical therapy, 3DPT is equipped to treat osteoporosis, balance and fall prevention, post-operative joint replacement, urinary incontinence, and rehabilitation for neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease. Geriatric physical therapy has been found effective in improving strength, mobility, and balance to help the aging individual build confidence in staying active and safe.

Occupational Therapy                                            Through occupational therapy, we treat both orthopedic and neurological conditions to aid with bathing, dressing and grooming skills, through the utilization of exercise, special assistive tools and adaptive devices. This ensures independence and maintenance of dignity in being able to care for oneself with activities of daily living.

Speech Therapy                                                          3DPT’s geriatric speech therapy provides vital services to those individuals who have communication, cognitive, or swallowing impairments following illness, trauma, or with neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease.
